There has been an increase in awareness and knowledge levels of HIV/AIDS prevention and information and commitment to combating this deadly disease. However HIV/AIDS remains a major killer disease thus rendering many children and youth orphans.The population growth continues to increase highly meaning the problem also continues to escalate. Read more..The majority of children and youth live in absolute poverty, face high motality of HIV/AIDS, lack health care facilities, safe water and sanitation, quality education, adequate housing etc of which put this generation who are the pillars of our nation at a great risk.

Youth Alive Development Foundation (YADF) is rural based Non-Governmental Organization, non-profit committed to the provision of educational opportunities, prevention and alleviation of HIV/AIDS amongst the impoverished children and youths, ensure economic empowerment through entrepreneurship, humanitarian assistance and sustainable development.

GOAL

YADF goal is to have healthy, educated children and youth who can overcome the challenges of the time.

STRATEGY

Create access to quality education, information, communication and technology, train and equip the target beneficiaries with practical skills and enhance income generating activities

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

1. To provide educational opportunities in building community education centers that offer quality education, sponsorship to the indigent children and the disadvantaged youth.

2. To promote the participation and involvement of youth in health programmes in the field of HIV/AIDS, preventable diseases such as Malaria, Tuberculosis, Typhoid etc; counseling and greater awareness, assistance to the affected/infected persons, family planning, sanitation, safe water and other health and personal hygiene.

3. To improve the welfare of the youth through income generating activities (IGAs) in the areas of cottage industry, agriculture, vocational and other self-help projects.

4. To equip the children and youth with practical productivity skills which will enable them lead a meaningful future and decent life.
